Some heavily armed gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, on Thursday stormed the premises of  St. Peter’s Unity Secondary School, Akure, Ondo State, and stole N3m which belonged to the school.
It was gathered that the robbers struck after the bursar of the school returned from the bank where he withdraw the money.

The source said,  “The robbers must have been trailing the bursar from the bank where he had gone to withdraw the money. They forcefully collected the money from him; but nobody was hurt.”
A source said immediately the bursar entered into the premises, the robbers followed him, shooting continuously into the air to scare away teachers and pupils of the school.
The bursar was said to have been arrested by the state police command.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo command, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the bursar’s arrest, said investigation had commenced into the matter.
He blamed the bursar for going to the bank to withdraw such a huge amount of money without police escort.
“What we learnt was that the hoodlums traced him (bursar) to the school after he had gone to withdraw a large sum of money without police protection. The money should be close to N3m.
“He is with us and he is helping with investigation. We will quiz him to ascertain whether he knows more than he claims,”
