LAGOS APPROVES 114 PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Lagos State government has issued provisional letters of approval to 114 proprietors/school owners that met government guidelines/requirements for the operation of private primary/secondary schools in the state.

The state government said issuance of the letters to qualified school operators was in fulfillment of its promise to begin endorsing schools that meet up with government’s guidelines and requirements.  read more ………..

UNIPORT CLOSES DOWN IN MIDST OF VIOLENT STUDENT PROTESTS

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Senate announced on Monday evening the closure of the institution in the wake of violent students’ protests over fee hikes.

Senior student Peter Ofurum was shot and killed during the protests, according to recent reports.

The Spokesman and Deputy Registrar of UNIPORT, Williams Wodi, made the announcement on Monday evening, directing students to leave their accommodations before 6:00 pm. The closure will last one month. see more………

Nigerians In Diaspora Support Jamb's CBT Model

As reactions continue to trail the adoption of Computer Based Test (CBT) by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), a coalition of Nigerians overseas, under the auspices of Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group (NDMG), have thrown their weight behind the board, saying they were in support of the adoption of computer-based testing model for students.
